Fauna of the Quarantine
Fauna of the Quarantine
Beginning week eight!
Quarantine subjects have gone from favorite painting places to photo opportunities that just happen along. The squirrels in the tree outside of my studio and the lovely Koi fish in a pond at Chandor Gardens. Some chose just because I of the beauty of the subjects and perhaps these because of particular diffiulties of painting fur, bones, water and fins. All presented their own problems. I am getting more adventurous in my choice of subjects. Some I choose just to see if it can “bring it off”. Thus the Koi fish. The shells were once “fauna”. Now they just reside in my bathroom. Treasures from a beach visit long ago. The last painting has “fauna” too, but you must look for it. A tiny kitten sits in the shadows outside of this warehouse in Shiner Texas. Perhaps waiting for breakfast.
