I haven’t painted at Chandor Gardens for over a year. The last time I was there they were in the process of refurbishing all of their ponds - no small feat! They were painted white and the effect was garish. Fearing that they would unfortunately remain that way was on my mind a I drove the hour and a half to Weatherford. My spirits sales as I saw the finished ponds, fountains and waterfall. All was beautifully restored and even more beautiful that before.
What a treasure this place is for painters and those who just enjoy the beauty of nature.

Two paintings of the same subject done a week apart under different weather conditions. The one below was done on a sunny hot day and the one above was done after a rainy night under cloudy skies. I really liked the waterlilies and so I made the second painting a painting of the water and less of the bridge. Water is difficult and the lack of shadows and brightness of the sun made is a very different painting. I really love to paint here there are challenges galore. The waterlilies were really blooming the second day.
