The Art on the Square Gallery work-shift is a great place to paint

without many interruptions.  There is no meal to fix, nothing to clean up or anyone making demands that something has to be done!

So it is just the most wonderful place to start a little painting from somewhere that i have traveled and loved.

Looking at an old photograph begins to bring memories of the day when it was shot, the temperature, expectations, the light playing in the leaves of the fall Aspen trees and how I felt that day.  When I paint a scene like this all sorts of little nuances a come to mind.  It is said that all Aspens are connected and communicate with each other.  I do believe that their senses go further than that and that they also know that they are being painted.  There is a calm that i often feel when painting on site.
